Skarv Technologies Presents CORAX in Japan

As part of our international business development efforts, Skarv Technologies participated in the Norway Japan Defence Industry Day in Tokyo, held in connection with the port visit of HNoMS Roald Amundsen during Operation Highmast in the Indo Pacific. Our company was represented by Simen Flåtter Flo, who introduced our next generation autonomous underwater vehicle, the CORAX AUV.

The CORAX system is a vertically integrated solution that combines a high performance vehicle with advanced opto acoustic sensors and on board data analysis. This unique combination enables operators to move from raw data to actionable insights within minutes.

CORAX AUV offers exceptional maneuverability with its six degree of freedom thruster configuration, a lightweight design that allows single user operation after only one week of training, and persistent autonomous maritime surveillance down to 600 meters depth for up to 30 hours per charge. It is designed for a wide range of missions including marine surveys, port and ship hull inspection, offshore asset monitoring and unexploded ordnance countermeasures.

We extend our gratitude to FSi and the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo for hosting this important event, and to Chief of Defence Eirik Kristoffersen for outlining Norway’s defence priorities for the years ahead. The journey to Japan, crossing the magnetic North Pole and even flying directly over our offices in Trondheim at 41,000 feet, underscores the global reach of our activities as we continue to develop innovative solutions for the maritime domain.
