Minister of Defense Visits Skarv Technologies

The Norwegian Minister of Defense, Bjørn Arild Gram, recently led a delegation to Skarv Technologies to explore new technologies for underwater surveillance and monitoring.

During the visit, Skarv Technologies showcased their latest innovation, the autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) CORAX (Coastal ROV AUV Explorer) system. This dual-use vehicle is designed to serve both commercial and defense applications.

As part of their tour, the delegation also visited Water Linked, an industry leader in acoustic sensing and navigation whose sensors are integrated into the CORAX AUV system. This collaboration highlights the strong technological partnerships within Norway's and Trondheims maritime industry.

The ministerial visit underscores the growing importance of autonomous underwater systems in both defense and commercial applications, while reinforcing Norway's position at the forefront of maritime technology development.
