Skarv Technologies spent a week in Tokyo visiting companies and attending the Norway-Japan Defence Industry Seminar, where we presented how our CORAX AUV helps combat the developing cost and effect asymmetry seen in the maritime security space. Represented by Simen Flåtter Flo, we set out how autonomy and edge processing change the requirements placed on modern subsea systems.
Japan and Norway face many of the same challenges and share a great deal of maritime experience. A collaboration between the two nations helps solve common problems with common solutions, where lower-cost unmanned systems guided by autonomy is a definitive trend. Asymmetric warfare has defined new design requirements for the field, with rapid iteration, scalable production, and onboard autonomy becoming central to how these systems are built and deployed.
It was an honour to share the stage with H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon and the many organizations and companies representing the two countries. We thank the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo, FSi, and Innovation Norway for the opportunity to participate and showcase our technology at the event.
